These love birds wanted to have their wedding at Cathedral Park in Portland, but their guest list was too large. So, the next best thing was to do their engagement session there! We met up on a beautiful Sunday morning for a quick mini session.

I met up with Dusty & Sydney at a park here in Salem, right before sunset. We did a quick little mini session and then we were on our way. If you don’t like being in front of the camera, mini sessions are the way to go. For families I only offer them in the fall, but if you’ve already booked me for your wedding, a mini session can be set up at your request. They literally take 10-15 minutes. Well, unless we end up chatting a lot, which isn’t uncommon. In that case, the session may take up to an hour, but I’m only taking photos for ten minutes of that. Anyway, if you’re camera shy or simply don’t have a lot of time, mini sessions are the way to go.
As you may know, senior portraits are not something that I do on a regular basis. I only offer these types of sessions to friends, family, and a select few of my “frequent flyer” clients. This beautiful girl is my neighbor (aside from my own kids she’s the only other kid on our street), so she gets the VIP treatment. I have known her since she was in 4th grade, when we moved into our current home. So, I’ve had the privilege of watching her grow up. She’s always been a friendly, outgoing, fun kid and I adore her for it. It’s hare do believe she just graduated from high school a few days ago!
We broke her session up over two days. The first was shot at her home and at a nearby park, as the sun was setting. It was absolutely perfect and as you can see, she is gorgeous!
I love how eclectic this session was, in terms of wardrobe. This beautiful woman brought with her a sexy strappy bra/underwear set, a comfy, but sexy flannel shirt, and then her coveted coat that she was so proud to have purchased for $3. A as a fellow bargain shopper, I totally got it and was happy to incorporate the piece into her session.
Plus, it provided some really nice texture to the images.
This session was shot in my Salem studio, using a combination of both digital and film cameras.
