Boudoir FAQ

HOW DO I BOOK A BOUDOIR SESSION?

Please contact me directly to book a boudoir portrait session. There are a number of options regarding boudoir portrait sessions. Once you’ve decided which type of boudoir session to book, you’ll need to have a signed contact and payment to secure your session.

HOW MUCH DOES BOUDOIR COST?

Boudoir pricing varies, depending on the type of session you choose, but prices begin at $300.

WILL MY BOUDOIR PHOTOS BE IN BLACK & WHITE OR COLOR?

Your boudoir images will all be in black and white. As a boudoir photographer, I feel strongly that your images should be in black and white and I make no exceptions on this.

HOW MANY PHOTOS WILL I GET?

Each boudoir session will yield a minimum of 20 images.

WILL YOU HELP ME WITH MY HAIR AND MAKE UP?

I will have at least stylist at your boudoir session to do your hair and make up, if needed. If you choose to do your own hair and/or make up, that is absolutely fine, but please know that the price of your session will remain the same.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

First and foremost, choose something that is flattering to your body type. Not everyone will look good in the same thing. I generally encourage my boudoir clients to choose one outfit that they think their partner will love and then one outfit that they love. Shoes are optional. I love detail, so anything with lace, ruffles, or unique stitching will photograph beautifully. Because the photos are in black and white, you can wear a variety of colors, but I recommend choosing shades that match. Even in black and white you want your shades of gray to coordinate. For example, a black and white polka dotted bra will not match red and black polka dotted panties, even in black and white.

WHAT IF I AM NOT AT MY GOAL WEIGHT?

Most women will never be as perfect as they’d like, so you may as well just do your photos now! Embrace your current body and feel beautiful just the way you are. And you know what? You can always get photos again, after you lose weight.

SHOULD I GO TANNING BEFORE MY SESSION?

No! Tanned skin does not photograph well in black & white and requires extra editing on my part. Skin that is naturally dark, however, photographs just fine. Also, please avoid tan lines because that is not something I can edit out of your photos.

HOW MUCH EDITING DO YOU DO?

I can and will smooth out cellulite and blemishes. I can decrease bulges and bumps. I will get rid of under eye circles and bags. I can not make you look 4 sizes smaller or give you bigger breasts. I get rid of some, but not all stretch marks. I can not get rid of stomach rolls. Please keep in mind that I use the best lighting and poses possible for each session. As long as you choose a flattering outfit, I’ll take care of the rest!

CAN I BRING A FRIEND WITH ME?

Unless your friend is also being photographed the same day or we are doing a private session in your home, no, you may not bring anyone else with you. This is a strict policy that have in place for a variety of reasons. Also, there are no males at all allowed at boudoir parties.

WILL EVERYONE ELSE AT A BOUDOIR PARTY BE  ABLE TO SEE ME WHILE BEING PHOTOGRAPHED?

No. Your photo session, even at a boudoir party, will be done in a separate room. I will be the only one in the room with you. You will be provided a robe to wear, if you need to travel from the restroom to the private room. You will, however, be getting your hair and make up done with other clients present. It’s always a fun time, though, socializing with the other clients.

WHAT DO I DO IF I AM NERVOUS ABOUT MY SESSION?

Almost every boudoir client is excited, yet nervous about their session. Most people will relax with some champagne while getting their hair and make up done and those who don’t are usually comfortable about 5 seconds after we start the photo session. I myself have had my boudoir photos done and I was all kinds of nervous. I was fine, though, once I got started (and I didn’t even have any champagne)!
