Portland Film Photographer | polaroids to go

When I remember, I bring my polaroid camera (well, technically it’s a Fuji instant camera) to sessions so that my clients can take a snap or two home with them. I love the instant gratification of this process, especially when I’m shooting film and it takes a few weeks to get the film scans back. This also works really well for those who wait until the absolute last minute to book their boudoir session as a gift. Hey, not judging… I’m a total procrastinator myself! Anyway, if they book so late that the images won’t be delivered in time for their anniversary or other event, these little photos fit perfectly into a card with a note saying, “more to come” or something like that.

Albuquerque New Mexico Boudoir Photographer | sunflowers

It was just a given that this gorgeous little spitfire was going to have sunflowers in her boudoir session. She loves sunflowers so much that we went shopping together the night before her session in Albuquerque and found the perfect bunch of flowers for her photos the next day.  The location, rented through airbnb, was the perfect backdrop with hints of turquoise and a screened in porch.

Salem Oregon Boudoir Photographer | just book your session already!

This is my friend. She booked and paid for a boudoir session last year. LAST. YEAR.
Then put off booking her session. To lose weight. To get more organized. To get her personal
life in order. Blah, blah, blah. When her session fee was about to expire (yes, almost a whole year later), she asked if she could put it towards a photo shoot of her kids. I said no. Not because I’m mean or because I lack understanding, but because I knew she NEEDED this session. ┬áSo, literally the last weekend before it expired, we did her session.
Without losing the weight, without getting organized, and without getting her
personal life 100% in order.
Her session was awesome, she loves the photos, and she feels GREAT about herself.
I’m sure you can imagine what she said, but I’ll tell you anyway. She said, “OMG, why
didn’t I do this sooner?!” So many clients say this after their session that I
just had to laugh when she said it.
So, the moral of the story is…If you’ve been thinking about a boudoir session, stop putting it off and just book it already! Who cares if you’re not at your ideal weight or if your schedule is crazy. Just do it! You won’t regret it. Plus, you can always book
another one when you have the perfect body and your life is
completely in order and no longer chaotic.
