Oregon Wedding Photographer | Dancing Deer Mountain | Erin & Jarod

Nestled in a little forest in Junction City, Oregon lies Dancing Deer Mountain, a hidden gem of a venue. I must say, it is absolutely beautiful and ideal for a rustic wedding. As soon as I got there, I felt welcome. The long driveway is lined with trees and fields, with little details and flowers in every nook and cranny of the property. The ceremony area and the reception area are steps away from each other, but distinctly separate. Aside from the restrooms and dressing room, the entire venue is outdoors. I’m sure that those of you who are not from Oregon are wondering why in the world someone would plan a completely outdoor event, in October, in a state that rains all the darn time. Understandable. Well, that is just how we are here in Oregon! We hold out hope that it won’t rain, but aren’t surprised if it does. Really, though, we won’t melt if it rains a bit. Of course, a portion of the venue has permanent cover, just in case the weather doesn’t cooperate.

Erin and Jarod were married last October (yes, I’m waaay behind on blogging,) with a small, fall-themed event. Even though it did rain off and on, everyone stayed dry, thanks to all of the massive trees on the property. The decorations were made up of deep oranges and reds, fall leaves, and beautiful floral arrangements by Morning Glories Floral.  Erin and Jarod’s two daughters were beyond adorable and were included in every aspect of the day, which was so beautiful to see.

This share might be a little larger than usual, but there were so many candid moments throughout the day that I just could not narrow it down any further. There was a lot of laughter, a lot of kissing, and a lot of love. From the way Erin put her hand out to reach for her father before walking down to the aisle, to the moment where her maid of honor pointed out how muddy Erin’s dress had gotten (and Erin laughing it off, like a true Oregonian), every little moment was just awesome.  photocrati gallery

A big thank you goes out to Michiko, my totally awesome assistant and
friend, for helping me with this wedding.
