Salem Oregon Film Photographer | Historic Deepwood Estate Wedding | Jessica & Tyler

I feel like I have so much to say about Jessica & Tyler’s wedding. I’ll start with the love. I don’t know that I’ve ever felt so much love at a wedding. Not just between the bride and groom (that is a given), but between their families. Their moms are best friends (and they’re hilarious and adorable) and they’ve all known each other since Jessica and Tyler were little kids. Their wedding attendants were not only loving and involved, but so incredibly helpful (shout out to Kat for all the help throughout the day).

I’d also like to thank my friend, Marla, of Simply Splendid, for second shooting with me. You see, I had a wicked migraine the day of this wedding, and without Marla and the help of Jessica’s bridal party, I don’t know if I would have made it!  Not only did Marla take some amazing photos (some of which I’ve included here), but she brought me some bee pollen for my  headache! Hey, at least my brides know now, though, that I will indeed show up and shoot your wedding, even with a migraine. I would not show up for any other job in that condition! I love my wedding clients and would do anything to make it to their big day.

Jessica and Tyler got married on the beautiful grounds of Historic Deepwood Estate in Salem, Oregon.
This was my first wedding shooting 100% film and I don’t know if I could have asked for a more beautiful background to compliment the tones and softness of film. I shot with my Bronica ETRS and Canon EOS-3, while Marla shot with a Yashica Mat, and her 35mm Nikon camera. We used a combination of Portra films and some b&w film stocks.  The nice thing about Deepwood Estate is that you don’t really need to do much in the way of decorations, since the location is so beautiful on it’s own.  They did, however, decorate their tables and dessert bar with blue tones and some soft floral arrangements.  Shortly after their dances, they said their goodbyes and made a bubble exit that was just so adorable!

Jessica & Tyler, I wish you a lifetime of happiness and I hope that you enjoy every second of your newlywed bliss!
You’re adorable and awesome and I couldn’t have asked for better clients!
