Can we just run away
Together, just me and you?
Have fun, forever play?
You know, just the two of us?

Can we just leave this place?
Just run hand in hand?
Be together all our days?
Are never ever look back…

Can we just walk
Together under the stars?
I’ll kiss your hand and your lips?
And you can have my heart?

Can we just laugh?
Innocent giggles, loving looks?
I’ll have your love and you can have mine?
Because it’s my hart and love you took…

Can we just walk
For hours on end?
We’ll talk about anything?
And we can lay upon your bed…

Poem by Gwennie Abra.

This styled elopement shoot was inspired by sunshine and love, as cheesy as that may sound.  The dress was purchased second hand at the Goodwill for less than $10. The bouquet was picked in the field that we used as the location for this session. Everything else was already in our closets. Thank you to Trista and Jesse for being model bride and grooms and thank you to Michiko, my trusty assistant, for officiating this beautiful event. I love dresses that fall outside the modern trends and this beige number did the trick. We paired it with some simple ribbon, which matched the one wrapped around the bouquet. Jesse’s pink shirt and simple black pants were ideal for this simple elopement concept. I’m happy to say that this is one of may all film collaborations. Using a Canon EOs-3 and Portra 160 film felt like the best option on this sunny day.

It is no secret that I love elopements. Of course, on my end it just makes things easier, as the focus is solely on the couple, BUT there is so much more to it than that. I’m a believer of love. I’m a romantic. I am madly in love myself and I just have to say… there is something about elopements that is so much more magical. It is 100% about the love and connection between the couple. Nothing else matters and that is just how marriage should be. It’s all about the couple and their mad love.
