Sometimes fate just takes over and makes everything all perfect and magical.
See, I wanted to do a halloween themed couples photo shoot of some kind. I’d already started planning and reserved some rental pieces for the shoot when I met Matthew and Mariah. They just happen to fall right in line with the style I had in mind for this shoot AND they were celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary! They were totally on board with letting me style everything and we are all thrilled with the outcome. Everything just sort of fell into place.
Mariah’s gown was a thrift store find (David’s Bridal brand) that I paired with a handmade black tulle skirt that I already had on hand. Her veil was a simple piece of black lace that we draped over her. To top off her gothic inspired look, she rocked a gorgeous blood red bouquet from Amanda Dant (my most favorite florist ever) of Morning Glories Floral. Oh, and how amazing is it that Mariah’s tattoos are halloween/monster themed? Kismet, I tell you.
Matthew kept things simple with a black shirt and pants and a gray tie. His wedding ring, which is a skull, could not have been any more perfect for this photo shoot.
After a few portraits and whispering sweet nothings to each other, as the sun went down, in the gardens at Historic Deepwood Estate, the couple enjoyed cupcakes and wine by candlelight in the woods. Their table setting featured items from both my personal collection and For the Love of Pete Event Rentals in Salem, Oregon. All in all, it was a gorgeous evening with an awesome couple celebrating their love for each other and all things creepy.
