So, Natalie and John were married almost a year ago. I’m just super behind on blogging, as usual.
Their ceremony and reception were held at the Keizer Heritage Center in Keizer, Oregon.
Natalie walked down the aisle in a beautifully understated chiffon gown, while John wore a traditional tuxedo. Their colors were a unique blend of kelly green and pink. I chose to shoot their wedding 100% film, as I knew that color combination would look beautiful on film. The ceremony was held outside, under the gazebo in the courtyard. Well, technically it was right in front of the gazebo because Natalie and John are both very tall and when they stood under the gazebo, you couldn’t see their heads! After the I do’s, we headed out to a nearby park for some portraits. Natalie and John scouted the area nearby prior to the wedding, as the wedding venue itself did not lend itself to group photos. They told me that they’d found a “Kel type Park” nearby, which made me laugh, but was also completely true.
After a quick portrait session with the wedding party, we headed back to the venue for the reception. The dinner and dessert were served indoors, while the dancing was held outdoors in the courtyard. The reception was decorated with simple centerpieces featuring carnations and baby’s breath and green and pink touches throughout, as well as some handmade wooden signs that were just perfect. Guests left notes with advice and encouraging words for the couple, which were put into jars labeled with specific anniversary years (1yr, 5yr, etc.). Such a sweet and clever idea.
All in all, I can say that John and Natalie have been the most laid back couple to date. They just didn’t get stressed out. Like, at all. Over anything. Cool cucumbers, those two. I think they’ll definitely have a long, happy marriage.
